On the evening of June 20, 1957, an F5 tornado struck Fargo, ND. In total, the tornado killed 12 people, injured numerous residents, and left about 2,000 homeless. Over 300 houses were destroyed and hundreds more suffered damage. The estimated damage was reported to be around $20 million.
