Start: May 2018
Estimated Completion: October 2018
Project Overview Map
Roberts Alley Project: Crews have reopened the north portion of the alley found between Broadway North and Roberts Street between 4th Avenue North to behind Atomic Coffee building. The alley is fully accessible to parking, deliveries and pedestrian thru traffic.
Roberts Street Project: Roberts Street is closed in the north portion between the north edge of the Salvation Army to the north edge of Roberts Common Parking Ramp. Roberts Street is open to local traffic only between north of the Salvation Army to 4th Avenue North intersection. All Roberts Common Parking Ramp access lanes for both entering and exiting traffic are expected to be opened during the weekend. When full access is restored, access to the ramp remains from the south portion of the work zone from 2nd Avenue North.
Roberts Alley Project: Included a complete roadway reconstruction and underground work. Work took place from behind Atomic Coffee continuing north to 4th Avenue North. The south portion of the alley remained accessible for pedestrian traffic.
Roberts Street Project: Includes work to replace deteriorating 105-year-old water main and 103-year-old roadway on Roberts Street between 2nd Avenue North to 4th Avenue North as well as replace a section of 5th Street North between 2nd and 3rd Avenue North that is an 83-year-old roadway in downtown Fargo.
The Roberts Alley Project: Closed the north portion of the alley found between Broadway North and Roberts Street from 4th Avenue North to behind Atomic Coffee building. There was no access to the north side of the alley for parking, deliveries or pedestrian traffic during active construction.
The alley was accessible for pedestrian traffic only on the south portion of the alley, which was improved last year. Access was from 2nd Avenue North sidewalk.
Roberts Street Project: The first part of initial phase impacted 5th Street North between 2nd Avenue North and 3rd Avenue North. The north ½ block section was completely closed to drivers and street parking was temporary unavailable during the roadway removal and placement of new water main. Pedestrian access was maintained on the east side next to the building entrances and temporary exit from the bank drive-thru maintained to 2nd Avenue North.
In early July, crews continued the first phase of work and shifted crews to Roberts Street to start the roadway reconstruction and water main improvement working from south to north. The project work is being completed in two phases to maintain access to area buildings and parking ramp.
Roberts Alley: The project began May 14th and finished early September.
Roberts Street: Project work is slated to be complete in October.
