Project Overview: 25th Street & 13th Avenue Reconstruction

In recent years, the pavement located in the intersection of 25th Street and 13th Avenue South had been experiencing excessive deterioration and lots of potholes had developed. The pavement was beyond preventive maintenance repairs to keep the driving surface safe for motorists.

The completed project aided in extending the useful life of this pavement by replacing the deteriorated pavement and restoring its structural integrity, therefore delaying future deterioration and improving ride quality. In addition to pavement repairs, the contractor also be replaced some sections of sidewalk that had become uneven or needed to be updated to meet current standards for the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Timeline:

On Saturday, June 2 crews completed the building of the permanent center medians at the intersection of 13th Avenue and 25th Street South and removed all traffic control. For drivers, this means additional through lanes and all turn lanes will be open for use in between the repair projects on 25th Street South.
