Zone: North
Project:10th Street North Reconstruction Project

The contractor for the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) Fargo District and City of Fargo 10th Street North reconstruction project has removed all traffic control and fully opened 10th Street North between 4th – 12th Avenue North along with all intersection access.

Over the next weeks, drivers are asked to watch for short-term daytime lane closures at 7th Avenue North intersection and near the area school. Crews will be finishing the installation of traffic signals and the protected pedestrian crossings at the school.

Both University Drive (southbound only) and 10th Street North (northbound only) are restored to one-way only traffic with the detour routes removed. Drivers are urged to pay attention to posted signage with the shift back to normal routes.

NDDOT urges motorists to watch out for workers on alternating sides of the 10th Street North roadway when the street light replacement work occurs under traffic or with intermittent shoulder closures over the winter months.

Both University Drive (southbound only) and 10th Street North (northbound only) are restored to one-way only traffic with the detour routes removed. All sidewalks, including both sides in the underpass, are open for pedestrians and the bike lanes on 10th Street North are again in use.

Through the residential and business zones posted speeds are 30 mph.

The project work was to upgrade 10th Street North between 4th – 12th Avenue North intersection from a rural to urban roadway to improve safety in north Fargo. During this past construction season, the contractor completed all roadway reconstruction and upgrade of aging facilities of storm sewer, water main and sanitary sewer north of 6th Avenue North intersection as well as built the new underground lift station and retaining wall in the railroad underpass.

The 10th Street North work zone will enter winter suspension and remaining project work in the railroad underpass will start once the spring college semester concludes in May.
