Project:10th Street North Reconstruction Project

Tomorrow, November 21, the contractor for the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) Fargo District and City of Fargo 10th Street North reconstruction project will open 10th Street North to two driving lanes north of 7th Avenue North intersection ahead of the upcoming holiday weekend.

The remaining lane closure in the underpass is slated to be removed next week, weather permitting. This change in traffic control will open both driving lanes to motorists throughout the entire project limits. The west side of the 6th Avenue North intersection will remain closed to access to 10th Street North until next week when work is finished in the area.

Both sidewalks in the underpass are open for pedestrians and the bike lanes on 10th Street N are again in use. Crews will continue to be active installing traffic signals and street lights over the next month with minimal impacts to traffic.

Both University Drive (southbound only) and 10th Street North (northbound only) are restored to one-way only traffic with the detour routes removed. Drivers are urged to pay attention to posted signage with the shift back to normal routes.

The project work in north Fargo was to upgrade 10th Street North between 4th – 12th Avenue North intersection from a rural to urban roadway to improve safety. The 10th Street North work zone will enter winter suspension and remaining project work will start after area college students.
