Zone: South
Project: 25th Street & 13th Ave S Intersection Reconstruction

Starting tomorrow morning, Friday, October 13, crews will begin to shift the traffic control to allow for crews to move into the next intersection corner at 25th Street and 13th Avenue South. By Friday afternoon, crews will begin roadway removals on third corner of the intersection (southeast quadrant by the coffee shop). For drivers, this means they will now be carried side-by-side on the north side of 13th Avenue S for eastbound and westbound traffic. Side-by-side traffic on 25th Street S will remain as is on the west side of the roadway.

One lane of traffic with turning lanes in each direction will continue to be maintained through the work zone. This project is reconstructing the entire intersection corner by corner. The intersection project is slated to be complete in early November.

After the third corner is complete, the project work will then move clockwise to southwest corner of the intersection.

Traffic pattern for drivers:

  • One driving lane with left-hand turning lanes will be open – motorists will shift to side-by-side driving lanes on the south side of the intersection
  • Northbound truck traffic will be prohibited from turning right to enter eastbound 13th Avenue S traffic at the intersection.
  • Pharmacy driveways:
    • North driveway: OPEN
    • South driveway: CLOSED
  • Southeast shopping center driveways:
    • Jeffries Office Park driveway: CLOSED

One sidewalk crossing for east/west and north/south will be maintained. At times, stretches will be closed to accommodate the work occurring in the corner.

Speeds are reduced in the work zone so drivers are reminded to slow down, eliminate distractions and pay attention to signage, as crews may be working near traffic.
