Fargo Police Academy

General Information

The Fargo Police Department will be hosting a tuition-free 12 week Police Training Academy this summer. The academy will start on May 18th, 2020 and end on August 7th, 2020.

We will be taking applications for any interested persons wishing to attend the Fargo Police Academy. This Academy will be certified by the North Dakota Peace Officer Standards and Training Board (ND POST). Successful completion of our Academy will result in the applicant being ND POST License Eligible upon employment by any North Dakota Law Enforcement Agency. The Fargo Police Department will also be looking to hire Academy graduates for full time employment as a Fargo Police Officer.

Those that are selected for the academy will be considered unpaid interns for the Fargo Police Department. If desired, those selected could potentially receive educational credits though their respective educational institution. However, that determination would come directly from them, not the Fargo Police Department.
