Brownfield Assessment Program
What is the Program?
The City of Fargo has received $400,000 in grants from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to perform brownfield assessments on properties within the city. Funds can be used to perform assessments on properties suspected or known to have contamination, such as petroleum, lead and asbestos. Assessments on a property can include research of the historical use of the property and previously documented contamination, physical sampling and testing of the site to determine if contamination exists, and corrective action planning.
How Do I Get My Property Signed Up for the Program?
Complete the Brownfield Site Nomination Form included in the Resources section of this webpage and mail or email the completed form to the address listed at the bottom of the form. Sites will be evaluated for eligibility by Planning Department and by the EPA.
