Renting in Fargo

There are more than 24,000 apartments in Fargo, which represent more than half of the total housing units in the community. Since about 1960, rental housing has captured an increasing share of Fargo's housing market.

Rental housing exists in both the older and newer areas of the city but it looks different in every neighborhood. Almost half of the housing units in Fargo are in multi-family structures (which are defined as buildings with 3 or more housing units) and most of those are in newer neighborhoods.

With the large number of rental units in the community, the quality and condition of the housing is high, and rents are generally very competitive.

The resources on this page may help both landlords and tenants interested in renting housing in Fargo.
