The National Weather Service (NWS) and Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service have compiled a list various impacts to Fargo-Moorhead as the Red River rises, as detailed below.

Action Stage (17+ Feet)

17 FEET
• Water rises to the edge of the bike path at El Zagal bowl along Elm St N between 14th and 15th Ave (Fargo)

Minor Flooding (18+ Feet)

18 FEET
• Elm St between 14th and 15th Ave N is closed and storm sewer pump stations are beginning to operate (Fargo)

19 FEET
• Low-level dam south of Main Ave is underwater (Fargo)

21 FEET
• 3rd Street underpass is closed (Moorhead)

22 FEET
• North Broadway Bridge is closed (Fargo/Moorhead)

23 FEET
• North Broadway bridge floods (Fargo/Moorhead)

Moderate Flooding (25+ Feet)

25 FEET
• City parks and recreation areas along the river begin to flood (Fargo). All storm sewer lift stations are in operation. (Fargo)

• 12th Avenue N/15th Avenue N bridge over Red River closed (Fargo/Moorhead)

• 1st Avenue N underpass is closed (Moorhead)
